Goodwill to Open Store in Johns Creek

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Dozens of anxious customers crowd the entrance. Inside, employees scurry about, putting the finishing touches on decorations and goods before the doors open.

This will likely be the scene on Thursday, Sept. 23, when Goodwill opens its doors to hundreds of shoppers at its new Johns Creek store. The facility, located at 10955 Jones Bridge Road, Johns Creek, 30022, will be the non-profit's 34th store in North Georgia.

When the doors open at 9:00 a.m., shoppers can expect to find quality items at a good price. For people looking to give, there is a convenient drive-up donor door where they can donate. This location will also have a place to recycle used computer hardware. People who drop off computer parts at Goodwill donation centers receive a tax receipt, regardless of the brand and condition of the equipment.

With every new store location Goodwill opens, it is able to increase its services to the community. Store revenues help fund its extensive job training and placement services.

"Our mission is to put people to work," said Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations for Goodwill of North Georgia. Last year, the nonprofit helped 4,692 people find jobs. Its goal this year is to connect more than 6,000 North Georgians to employment.
