Mike Huckabee to sign books in Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will be in town this week to sign copies of his latest book, A Simple Government.

Huckabee will be at the Barnes & Noble at Mansell Crossings (7660 Northpoint Parkway, 30022) from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 10.

A Simple Government: Twelve Things We Really Need from Washington (and a Trillion That We Don't!) is Huckabee's ninth book.

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- It's time to break out the balls and bats!

Registration is now open for Johns Creek's baseball camps.

The spring break camp is fast approaching; this year's session will be held from Tuesday, Apr. 5 to Thursday, Apr. 7 at Ocee Park (10900 Buice Road, 30022).

Camp runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every day and is for students ages seven to 13. The cost is $115 per child.

Registration for spring break camp closes on Wednesday, Mar. 30.

Johns Creek Applebee's Celebrates Its Movie Debut

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Hall Pass, the new movie from the Farrelly brothers (Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary), features a location that will look very familiar to Johns Creek residents.

At one point in the film, the characters played by Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis eat at the Johns Creek Applebee's (4210 Johns Creek Parkway, Suwanee, 30024); the scene and restaurant are both in the movie's trailer.

To celebrate its major motion picture debut, the Johns Creek Applebee's will host a Hall Pass movie release party on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Guests will enjoy half-price appetizers and hundreds of giveaways related to the film, including duffle bags, T-shirts and posters.

The sessions provide an opportunity for direct contact with community members and give board members a chance to listen to local issues and concerns.
