JOHNS CREEK: Standoff ends, 9-year-old held hostage
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- An overnight standoff has ended peacefully in Johns Creek.
City spokeswoman Rosemary Taylor confirmed that a man had been holding his 9-year-old son hostage since about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday. They were parked in a car in a shopping center on Jones Bridge Road near Old Alabama Road.
The man surrendered to police at around 6 a.m. Authorities said the boy was not hurt and there was no evidence that he had been threatened or that his father was armed.
Taylor said the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
