Dining Out for Life

Dining Out for Life

If you ever wanted an excuse to eat out, it would be to support the efforts of Dining Out for Life, an annual community fundraising event involving the generous support and participation of corporate sponsors, restaurant communities nationwide, dedicated community volunteers, and the thousands of citizens that will dine out on Wednesday April 27, 2011 at participating restaurants.

The 19th Annual Dining Out for Life in Atlanta will benefit Open Hand a non-profit organization that helps to deliver over 5,400 nutritious meals daily to men, women and children who are living below the federal poverty level and strives to empower our neighbors to live healthy, independent lives.

FOOD REVIEW: Salt Factory Pub, Roswell GA

FOOD REVIEW: Salt Factory Pub, Roswell GA

Salt Factory Pub sits on Canton Street in historic Roswell in the center of what’s happening in North Fulton. Not only was Salt Factory Pub totally packed out, so was everything else around – including the parking. TIP: If you can’t get parking at the Antique market, go one block east toward Alpharetta St. (Hwy 9) and you should be able to find something within a short walking distance.

When we arrived at Salt Factory Pub we were told that the wait was 35-40 minutes, but we were seated within 20 and had a great table in the corner from where we could observe the entire restaurant.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Hall Pass, the new movie from the Farrelly brothers (Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary), features a location that will look very familiar to Johns Creek residents.

At one point in the film, the characters played by Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis eat at the Johns Creek Applebee's (4210 Johns Creek Parkway, Suwanee, 30024); the scene and restaurant are both in the movie's trailer.

To celebrate its major motion picture debut, the Johns Creek Applebee's will host a Hall Pass movie release party on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Guests will enjoy half-price appetizers and hundreds of giveaways related to the film, including duffle bags, T-shirts and posters.
