First Watch rolls out summer menu

(WXIA) -- First Watch has unveiled a new limited-time summer menu.

The award-winning breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant is known for its use of fresh, mostly local ingredients. It has two metro Atlanta locations.

"These limited-time offering menus have provided a great vehicle for us to broaden our culinary vision and present new, craveable dishes with unique ingredients to our guests," First Watch chief marketing officer Chris Tomasso said in a statement. "From quinoa to salmon to artichokes and fresh fruit drinks, our new offerings provide another great reason to visit First Watch."

ATLANTA -- Atlanta-based Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers will run a special Thailand-themed promotion through July 14.

The "High on Thai" menu features several dishes with the bold, spicy and sweet components of Thai cuisine.

It includes a new appetizer, a "Big Buddha" salad, two hoagies, a dessert and, of course, a pizza -- Thai Dye, which features an olive oil and garlic base, mozzarella cheese, yellow curry, chicken, onions, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh basil and sweet chili sauce.

"Summer is the perfect time to enjoy both the freshest of ingredients and traditional Thai flavors like ginger, lime, curry, cilantro, basil, coconut and more," Mellow Mushroom VP of brand development Annica Kreider said in a statement.

Supper Club fundraiser held at 5 Seasons Brewery

5 Seasons Brewery invites the community to help them kick off the summer patio season while raising money for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. They will host the Food Bank’s regular Supper Club fundraiser on June 11 at all three locations. This is a special edition of Supper Club with the theme “Patio Perfect Dining” highlighting great restaurant patios in Atlanta.

Eat dinner at one of the three 5 Seasons Brewery locations on Tuesday, June 11 and 20 percent of your tab will be donated to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Chipotle offers BOGO special for teachers

ATLANTA -- Chipotle Mexican Grill is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day by offering buy-one-get-one menu items for educators.

On Tuesday, May 7, a teacher who shows a valid school ID at any U.S. Chipotle restaurant will receive a free burrito, burrito bowl, salad or order of tacos when they buy another menu item.

The promotion is available from 4 p.m. to close.

"We are changing the way people think about and eat fast food. This means going beyond our commitment to better food from more sustainable ingredients and working hard to engrain our restaurants in the communities that they serve," Chipotle communications director Chris Arnold said in a statement. "Connecting with educators and other key community groups is part of who we are, and we're always happy when our work makes an impact upon the communities where we operate."

ATLANTA -- Coca-Cola and Firehouse Subs are partnering for a national sweepstakes centered on stock car racing.

Coca-Cola is sponsoring the Coca-Cola Photo Finish sweepstakes at Firehouse Subs locations through Apr. 21.

During the contest, life-size cutouts of participating Coca-Cola Racing Family members will be placed in FIrehouse Subs locations. Firehouse Subs guests can snap a photo with the cutout and submit it to win. Guests can submit photos via text to cocacolaphotofinish.com, or entries can be mailed.

Participating drivers include Joey Logano, representing the Georgia and Gulf region; Greg Biffle, representing the West and Central region; Danica Patrick, representing the Florida region; Denny Hamlin, representing the South region; and Tony Stewart, representing the Mid-Atlantic region.

Chick-fil-A Daddy-Daughter Date Night returns in 2013

ATLANTA -- Chick-fil-A's wildly popular Daddy-Daughter Date Night will return in February.

More than 100 Atlanta- and Athens-area Chick-fil-A restaurants will host the event on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Every couple in attendance will receive an activity sheet with conversation topics and a booklet called "Continuing the Conversation," which gives the dads and daughters suggestions for getting to know each other better.

"One of Chick-fil-A's goals is to promote community connections and enrich the lives of everyone we serve," Chick-fil-A area marketing director Robin Lomax said in a statement. "We understand the importance of father-daughter relationships and want to encourage dads to take a break from busy schedules, enjoy their daughters' company over a meal and have fun."

First Watch coming to Johns Creek

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- An award-winning breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant will open its first metro Atlanta location this week.

First Watch will occupy the former J. Christopher's space in the Johns Creek Village shopping center on Medlock Bridge Road.

First Watch offers fresh, made-to-order meals every day until 2 p.m. The restaurant chain prides itself on preparing food without the use of deep fryers and heat lamps, and works to accommodate all guests, including those with allergies and gluten intolerance.

"First Watch is known for unique and fresh breakfast, brunch and lunch items, and we are confident Atlanta-area residents will come to know and love our restaurant like so many other communities have," First Watch chief marketing officer Chris Tomasso said in a statement.

The Johns Creek location will feature an outdoor patio, free Wi-Fi and an interior design that lets in as much natural light as possible.
