Layaways Coming for the Holidays 2011

Layaways Coming for the Holidays 2011

As the holidays come near I figured it was time to let everyone know about the great layaway programs that will be going on this season. This is the time to start getting ready for the holidays and with these great programs you can get your holiday shopping done and be debt free. This is one of the things that I plan on doing to help with the cost of providing my daughter a Christmas.

Best Buy

Make a 25% down payment, plus a 5% nonrefundable layaway fee. Best Buy requires a minimum purchase of $250, but keep in mind that you can include several items to meet that total. Payments are made every two weeks until the balance is paid in full. Items that are ineligible for layaway include clearance, promotional, closeout and discontinued items.

Students begin 'lemonade war' for a cause

Students begin 'lemonade war' for a cause

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- Students at Dolvin Elementary School in Johns Creek recently began a "war," but instead of destruction, this battle resulted in good.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, nearly 100 children and parents from the Dolvin subdivisions set up lemonade stands with proceeds benefiting childhood cancer research.

At the end of the day, the students collected nearly $2,500 for their cause. Together, they gathered up more than 1,100 toiletry items to put into care packages for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Although the Dumoor/Waters Cove/Woodbrooke team won the challenge by raising $1,044, the real winners are the young cancer patients, as researchers will use the money to move one step closer to finding a cure.

The touch screen-operated Freestyle lets consumers create their own personal and customized drinks, dispensing more than 100 sparkling and still beverage brands from one machine.

Firehouse Subs also recently adopted the Freestyle for its restaurants.
