200 help kick off Fulton County Aviation Community Cultural Center

ATLANTA -- Vice Chair Emma Darnell, along with the Fulton County Board of Commissioners joined around 200 community members to open the Fulton County Avialtion Community Cultural Center.

The center is scheduled to open May 2014, but the ceremony held Friday started the excitement. Darnell said the process so far has been a long one.

"The potential to benefit surrounding neighborhoods and the larger Fulton County community is exciting," she said.

The facility will be over 16,000 square feet, where the community can gather to foucs on North American Aviation history, train for a career in aviation, visual and performing arts.

Among the crowd that came out Friday were representatives from the Atlabta Chapter of the Tuskagee Airmen, pilots from military and several airlines, Arts and Education community members and other Fulton County residents.
