ROSWELL, Ga. -- Roswell United Methodist Church has joined forces with the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce (GNFCC) to lower the unemployment rate in Fulton County.

GNFCC president and CEO Brandon Beach announced Wednesday that the RUMC Job Networking Program, which was created 24 years ago, has partnered with the chamber.

"This alliance is a great example of how organizations can collaborate to address the needs of the community," Al Nash, executive director of Progress Partners North Fulton Atlanta, said in a statement. "It's important to our economic development strategy that we have a vehicle to match up qualified candidates with jobs that are being generated in North Fulton."

The chamber is encouraging local businesses with job openings to send information to the Job Networking Program.

"Employers are always looking for the right candidate, and job seekers are ready for the right opportunity and the most up-to-date search skills," RUMC Job Networking Program spokesperson Jay Litton said. "This alliance will bring the community together for a most pressing issue -- jobs."
