Manning Oaks Elementary to Host Bullying Workshop

ALPHARETTA, GA -- What should a student do when someone picks on him or her? Or starts rumors? Or never lets him/her join a group? Is it really bullying if there's no physical contact?

Bullying and Social Aggression will be the topic of a workshop presentation by Balance Educational Services, LLC on Monday, Oct. 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Manning Elementary School (405 Cumming Street, Alpharetta, 30004).

This workshop will help parents and other adults understand and reduce bullying, cyber bullying and social aggression.

Johns Creek to Host Household Hazardous Waste Workshop

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The Fulton County Public Works Department will host a free household hazardous waste workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The workshop will take place at the Ocee Branch Library (5090 Abbots Bridge Road, Johns Creek, 30005).

A typical home can contain many types of hazardous household products used for cleaning, painting, beautifying, lubricating and disinfecting the house, yard, workshop and garage. Chemical-based household products in a single home may seem insignificant, but when millions of homes across Georgia use similar products -- handling, storing and disposing of them improperly -- the combined effort can become a major problem.

The hazardous waste workshop will educate residents on how to use alternative household cleaners.
